Most people who contact us want the same thing: to live in Montenegro and keep working. There are two routes that cover the majority of cases, and the right one depends on where your income comes from.
Route 1: Digital nomad residence
The digital nomad regime is intended for foreigners who perform work electronically for a foreign company, or for their own company that is not registered in Montenegro. You keep your employer or your foreign company — you simply live here.
- No Montenegrin company required
- Temporary residence may currently be granted for up to two years, with a possible extension of up to two more
- Our fee: €500 + VAT, third-party costs separate
Route 2: Company formation + work & residence permit
If you want to run your business through Montenegro — invoice clients from a local company, hire staff, or build something here long-term — you establish a Montenegrin company and obtain a work and residence permit through it.
- Company formation from €400 + VAT
- Work & residence permit €550 + VAT
- Or everything coordinated for a year through our First-Year Concierge (€10,900 + VAT)
